"Just Coffee: Caffeine with a Conscience" is a fascinating primer in how to respond proactively to economic forces that leave most of us feeling totally powerless.
This book is for those who know that Jesus calls us to create the reign of God right here on earth, right now. If, like me, you are not a coffee drinker, Just Coffee may be just enough to make you start!"

Read US Coordinator Mark Adams' article
Immigration and the Bible
in September/October edition of Horizon's Magazine,a publication of
PCUSA PW. The whole edition is focused on Immigration and the USA Mission Experience.
In January, while discussing the themes that she had discovered in the reading of the gospel of Mark, Anne Volker, a student at Iowa State University said: “Jesus is all about healing.” In the gospel, touch is often the vehicle for healing: Jesus reaching out to touch the leper or the blind man’s eyes (after spitting on them) or the women reaching out through the crowd to touch the hem of Jesus’ cloak.
Health is one of the six areas of ministry of Frontera de Cristo, but the longer I am here the more I realize that all six areas of ministry seek to be part of God’s healing ministry here on earth: church development--encouraging spiritual and emotional healing; Family Ministry--promoting the health and healing of stressed or broken family relationships; Mission Education--healing of broken relationships across border, and Just Trade Center—expanding an economic model that is healthy for local economies.
Much that the healing ministry of Frontera de Cristo is not as dramatic as the healings of Jesus’ recounted in the gospel such as when Jesus the “clean” rabbi bucked all social and religious norms and touched the “unclean” leper and instead of Jesus becoming unclean the leper was healed and made clean.
But on February 14, el Dia de Amor y Amistad (or Love and Friendship Day) however, I witnessed an amazing healing touch in an unlikely place—the desert west of Agua Prieta. A group of retired and respected US Presbyterians from Tucson, including a couple celebrating their 55th anniversary, were being led through the desert by a group of tatooed young men who are shunned by society because of their history of addiction and the types of behavior, anti-social and often criminal, that often accompany addiction.
